I recently had the pleasure of dining at Indian Tavern Kitchen & Bar in Calgary, and I can't say enough good things about my experience! The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual dinner or a special occasion. The menu offers a fantastic variety of traditional Indian dishes, each bursting with flavor. I tried the Paneer Peshwari and it was absolutely delicious—rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced. The naan was fresh and soft, complementing the meal perfectly. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was seamless from start to finish. Kusum and Param assisted us in making our dining experience a little more enjoyable. Very professional way of dealing. They both were very kind and offered us complementary dessert. These small things make someone’s day. Our group was very happy with choosing this restaurant for dine in Overall, Indian Tavern Kitchen & Bar is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine in Calgary. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes! Highly recommend!

This place is just behind SAIT and I've been here a lot of times. Each time I have been here the food has always been consistently delicious. They are not as expensive and their serving us very generous. The people are so nice and the owner is always there to help out. They also now have an afternoon buffet for just 15 from 11:30-2:30 from Mondays to Fridays. We will definitely always come back to eat here!!

I’m a frequent customer of this restaurant! Every time I crave Indian food, this is my go-to spot. The dishes are delicious, and the non-vegetarian options are provided. The staff, Param and Kusum, are incredibly kind and welcoming, they’re a big part of why I keep coming back. I’ll definitely continue visiting this wonderful place!

Update on my previous review — I really appreciate the quick and thoughtful response from the team at Indian Tavern. Within 24 hours, they acknowledged the issue and delivered the correct order to my place, free of charge, without me even asking for a refund or replacement. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and absolutely delicious. This level of customer service truly stands out. A big thank you to Param for understanding the situation and ensuring it was handled so kindly and professionally. Mistakes can happen, but the way this was resolved has restored my trust in the restaurant. (We’ve been loyal customers of Indian Tavern for over two years, usually dining in and enjoying the food. However, our recent experiences — especially with takeout — have been very disappointing. This time, I ordered dal rice and pudina paneer tikka for takeout. Unfortunately, instead of the paneer tikka, we were given naan. Since the bag was stapled shut, I couldn’t check the contents at pickup. When I got home and noticed the issue, I immediately called the restaurant. Rather than offering a refund or delivery, they asked us to return to pick it up. When we went back, the order still wasn’t ready — we had to wait again. Eventually, we received the pudina paneer tikka, but it was clearly undercooked and not prepared properly. The whole experience felt rushed and poorly handled. Param, who was handling things that day, has always been very polite and welcoming. She seems to genuinely care about customers and was visibly disappointed with how the situation was managed by the rest of the staff. We appreciate her efforts, but the service and kitchen coordination overall were lacking. Also worth mentioning — during a previous visit (when Param wasn’t there), we had ordered our usual samosa chaat. It wasn’t fresh at all. When my friend gave feedback, it was ignored and no action was taken. It’s disheartening to see the quality and consistency decline at a place we’ve supported for so long. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements and sadly, it’s made us reconsider visiting again.)

It was our first time here! It looks renovated. The food was amazing, the portions of food are for 2 people, and the food is priced well. Service was exceptional. We will be back and have already told our friends and family. We had butter chicken and a few naan! We look forward to trying other dishes !

We were there to eat indian food and i must say service is awesome .Both param and kusum are really amazing in providing recommendations and very swift in service . They asked multiple times about our likings and make sure we enjoyed the food.

We were craving Indian food and came across Indian Tavern & Kitchen, so we decided to give it a shot. The cheese naan was a standout, so good! The noodles had a light but tasty flavor, and the chicken vindaloo and palak beef were both solid choices. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the mood for some good Indian food!
